Good communications and information are vital in today's rapidly changing business world, but identifying the technologies and acquiring the skills that are best suited to your company's needs are not always straightforward.

STEP has two IT Centres which operate together to provide a range of complimentary services. They are the Information Technology Business Education Centre and the STEP Learning Centre. Being a Branded 'Learning Centre accredited by the Scottish University for Industry (SUfI).

A wide range of awareness and Training Courses are available through the Centres including some covered in the Section 'Business Training'

The IT STEP assistances allows clients the opportunity to access a specialist business adviser supported with an advanced IT demonstration facility which enables practical demonstrations and client education to take place. The facility also offers an independent and impartial insight into Information Technologies as relevant to your own particular business environment with the adviser acting as honest broker. The aim of the centre is to work with clients to enable them to better understand Information Technologies and how they can apply these to the benefit of their business, be they start-up or existing.

The Centres are open to the community, new business start-ups, established businesses and STEP tenants. This resource is an integral part of the  overall STEP business advice and support service, providing clients with a comprehensive understanding of traditional and modern business methods.

Initial individual access to the IT Centre resources is made available through a voucher system, entitling the holder to 4 one hour sessions. Depending on progress being made on the project, they can reapply for additional vouchers.
